sula clothing studio packing and posting production

a surprising amount of our time is devoted to unpacking, re-packing and posting our production. over the years, as sula has grown and our clientele become increasingly international, we have had to develop a super systematic approach to doing this.

the dictionary describes systematic as a methodological, organized and thorough approach to a task, adhering to a fixed system in order to ensure efficiency and minimise error.

over the years we have worked really hard — harder than we could possibly have imagined — to encourage our vietnamese workshop teams to send our production garments in large paper bags and card boxes, to avoid using any plastics. and this has become standard practice.

as our production arrives, we rinse wash and line-dry all garments (apart from knitwear). each item is placed in a brown paper bag which is stamped with the requisite style, colour and size. we prepare piles and piles of these bags, and make our card labels with paper string, during our quiet christmas period.

once filled, each bag is arranged in alphabetical order of style name — boxes pictured are during this process — and then boxed to fulfil each client order.
